Wellington’s rainbow community SATB choir, the Glamaphones began in 2011, evolving from the Homophones, a gay men’s choir established in 2007. With around 60 active members, the choir emphasises participation, inclusion and strengthening connections within LGBTQI+ communities. Its wide-ranging repertoire includes pop, classical, spiritual, musical theatre, jazz and contemporary choral music, and the choir regularly performs at concerts and rainbow community events.
