In June 1967 the Rev. Godfrey Wilson delivered a sermon highlighting the negative treatment of homosexuals. It was a radical call for acceptance and inclusion at that time. Remember this is almost 20 years before homosexual law reform happens in the mid 1980s, and many people at the time view homosexuality as a perversion - and certainly not a matter of human rights.
