Clock ticking for earlybird games fees

Thu 14 Oct 2010 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback View at NDHA

Earlybird fees for the Asia Pacific Outgames will run out in just over two weeks. Participation fees for all the sports go up after 31 October. Wellington Outgames organisers say the dollar savings for some sports are significant: earlybirds in golf or mountain biking can save $30; in badminton, dancesport, swimming and ten pin bowling, $35; while tennis players can save $50. Hundreds of people from seven countries have signed up so far, with numbers in some sports running well ahead of forecast. Athletes are travelling from as far away as Switzerland to attend. And the fierce competition between Kiwi and Aussie participants continues – with the Aussies having just 5 more people signed up than the Kiwis at the start of October. The Outgames conference has a later earlybird cutoff date of 30 November, because the full conference programme has not yet been announced. You can register for the Outgames here The Wellington Outgames crew are holding a chocolate and wine tasting fundraiser coming up at Butler's Chocolate Cafe in Willis Street on Friday 29th October.
