K' Rd's Urge Bar is hitting the road for a special one-off foray into the Garden City. The 'one-stop' tour is the brainchild of Bears Christchurch's Hamish Milne and he says the event is perfectly timed. "We are so stoked to host our North Island brothers for an earthquake recovery party. Now more than ever we need a good party." The bar's resident DJ Mauri will join local spinner Craig Morris on Saturday, October 9 at Bar 5 for a special Christchurch gig. Urge co-owners Paul Heard and Alan Granville are also making the trip south and are bringing a host of bar regulars with them. "We can't wait to party with the boys there. We hope this will be the first of a series of Urge gigs in Christchurch and around New Zealand," says Granville. Pre-sale tickets cost $15 and can be bought at Menfriends (83 Lichfield St) from September 25 or they are $20 at the door. Bar 5 is at 76 Lichfield Street.
