A draft copy of the much-awaited report into the funding and provision of HIV support and prevention services has been handed to the Ministry of Health but there is no indication yet of when the finalised report will be made public. The HIV Services Review, conducted by Dr. David Miller, was commissioned "to ensure that current and future investment contributes towards improving service coverage for people who are HIV-positive and that those services are effective and cost-efficient," according to a Ministry spokesperson in mid-February. Although most public attention has focused on the review's attention to support services the Ministry has advised GayNZ.com that prevention services will also be covered in the report. In his review Dr Miller will not be making recommendations to the Ministry.
