How much do you really know about gay sex? LGBT people in Palmerston North are invited to a fun sex quiz and games event this Thursday evening. "We'll be focusing on addressing LGBT sexual health and well-being," explains Danny Rudd, coordinator of the Manawatu Lesbian and Gay Rights Association's Sexual Health Group. "We've arranged to have representatives from various local sexual health providers at the event to ask the quiz questions, present prizes and be available to answer questions our community members may have." Rudd says the 'Shag Nite' will be in a safe and non-threatening environment, with food provided. "We are concerned that LGBT people in our area may be less likely to approach health providers, particularly in regards to sexual health issues," he adds. "Also, focus group enquiries have revealed a real lack of knowledge about sexual health issues in our community, particularly among younger LGBT individuals." Palmerston North's Shag Nite will begin at 7pm this Thursday 3 December at the ClubQ bar on Jersey Lane.
