Wellington lesbian musician 'Dr Falconer' says her new song about gay love and commitment would be banned in 85 countries around the world where it is currently still illegal to be in a same-sex relationship. "This song is about a woman being in love with another woman and preparing to ask for her lover's hand in marriage - and that is something that is punishable - sometimes by death in - in a number of countries," she says. "I'm just one person, but I think that music can change things. And this is my way of trying to make the world a fairer and better place for what is often quoted as being 10 percent of the world's population... that's 600 million people who deserve basic rights of equality."
