The NZ AIDS Foundation is seeking "qualified and enthusiastic candidates" to stand for election to its Trust Board at its next Annual General Meeting, planned for 28 November. This year there will be two vacancies for elected Trustee positions on the Board as two elected Trustees, Hamish Allardice and Peter Browne, are nearing the end of their two-year terms in office. Elected members can stand for re-election for a second term, however. The NZAF's Trust Board comprises three appointed and four elected seats. Participating on the Trust Board is demanding, but is an outstanding way to serve both the NZAF and the communities affected by HIV and AIDS, says the NZAF, according to an NZAF statement. Nominees, it says, should be aware of the significant amount of time required of any Trust Board member, including at least six full-day Board meetings each year, plus travel, additional meetings and committee time as required. Only current members of the NZAF are eligible to stand for the Trust Board, and only up-to-date members who have joined the NZAF before 27 October 2009 are eligible to vote in November's AGM. The closing date for nominations is this coming Monday 19 October. The address to send written nominations is shown on the NZAF's official website.
