One hour's worth of free drinks helped encourage hundreds of K' Road's camp Family bar punters through the door early yesterday evening as the famous LGBT venue celebrated its fourth anniversary. On the house: Family punters queue for free drinks at the big birthday bash The club's bar staff gave away thousands of dollars worth of house wine, beer and spirits before over an hour's worth of non-stop drag and talent shows lit up the stage in the packed venue. The ground floor venue was adorned with pink balloons and streamers, while the bar downstairs was also open to supply more free drinks. Auckland's most iconic drag divas, including Miss Ribena, Buckwheat, Tess Tickle and Venus Mantrapp, joined the city's up-and-coming diva entertainers to perform and pay tribute to the venue, widely known as "Auckland's gayest nightclub." The party raged on until around two on Monday morning, when the police suddenly swooped in to close the club down and move the remaining punters across the road to the Naval - a bomb threat - had led the club to be evacuated late on its birthday night last year.
