David Ogden Stiers, who played aristocratic Major Charles Emmerson Winchester III in the iconic 1980s television series M*A*S*H, says he's gay and "very proud to be so." Out, and looking for love: David Ogden Stiers The 66-year-old acting veteran has revealed to showbiz blog Gossip-Boy.com that his fear of losing his successful career as a voiceover actor - he lent his distinctive voice to Disney animated films Beauty and the Beast, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Pocahontas - caused him to remain closeted for many years. But now he's out - although not for noble reasons, he admitted to the blogger: "Now is the time I wish to find someone and I do not desire to force any potential partner to live a life of extreme discretion for me," he said. "I wish to spend my life's twilight being just who I am."
