Just a fortnight after the closure of Miss Mole's Flamingo Bar, DJ Danice and Miss Mole are teaming up again to bring Christchurchers a new gay night out on Fridays. Music variety: DJ Danice Hosted by The Bedford bar above Legends on the corner of Madras Street and Bedford Row, every second Friday from tonight will be Women's Night from 8pm until late with DJ Danice, alternating with a new LGBT clubbing night every other week there from next Friday 20 February. "This was all very sudden," explains DJ Danice. "Miss Mole and I have been asked to work as a team every Friday night with Mole on the bar and me on music. We have good chemistry. I play a lot of disco, house and club music with odd surprises and old favourites from the last six decades… and Mole on the bar is entertainment in itself!" Men can come along to the fortnightly Womens' Night, but only as invited guests of female clubbers, so the event remains a safe place for lesbian and bi women to meet. "We've put this night on for you girls - so do please come and enjoy," Danice invites. The Bedford venue has a large dance floor, bar area, pool table and sound system. Christchurch is also home to gay nightclub Cruz, open Wednesdays to Sundays from 7pm until late at 90 Lichfield Street.
