Hollywood actors Sean Penn and Ralph Fiennes are both nominated in this year's Golden Globe Awards for playing gay roles. On the list: Sean Penn may grab a Golden Globe Penn has been nominated for Best Actor for his performance as openly gay San Francisco politician Harvey Milk in Gus Van Sant's Milk biopic. However, the much-praised film failed to be nominated for Best Picture at the Golden Globes. However, the film still has some Oscar buzz around it, after it won Best Film from the New York Film Critics Circle this week, and Time magazine voted Milk at number 5 in its Top Ten list of 2008 movies. Meanwhile, British-born actor Ralph Fiennes also picked up a Best Actor nomination for his role as Tobacco heiress Doris Duke's gay butler in TV's Bernard and Doris. The winners will be announced in Los Angeles on 11 January.
