When asked how it feels to have made New Zealand's 'best dressed' list, gay morning TV host Steve Gray replies simply: "it's hysterical!" Fashion nod: Steve Gray on Hartnell's list Longtime gossip-monger David Hartnell has named the Good Morning co-cost on his 2008 list of well-dressed local celebrities in the latest Women's Weekly magazine, explaining that Gray's "relaxed attitude to what he wears is the key to looking cool." "I've not stopped laughing since I found out," Gray told GayNZ.com when we called to congratulate him. "I don't think much about clothes and shopping – when I shop I just go and grab things quickly. "And since we're doing fitness on the show so much now, I've lost so much weight that half my clothes don't even fit me anymore," he laughs. Gray acknowledges that the talented team at TVNZ's Avalon wardrobe department helps him put together his on-screen look, and says his only style essential is owning one good suit for occasions when he needs to dress to impress. Little Brother, Workshop, Calvin Klein and Marvel are among Gray's favourite fashion producers, and if the TV host had his own 'best dressed' list, he'd nominate newsreader Miriama Kamo, 'newsboy' Jeremy Wells, and political affairs show host Wallace Chapman to take top honours. Hartnell's 2008 list also includes TV3's Jaquie Brown, and rugby stud Daniel Carter for best dressed. Psychic Sue Nicholson and comedian Dai Henwood were among those with the dubious honour of 'worst dressed'. TV One's Good Morning show tomorrow will feature an interview with Hartnell talking about his best and worst dressed list.
