NZ gay porn going to Berlin Festival

Thu 23 Oct 2008 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

An explicit gay male sex film produced in Auckland will make its European debut this week at the 3rd Annual Berlin Porn Film Festival. 'John': A Kiwi porn ambassador "It's very exciting that our adult films are gaining a recognition on the international stage," says Astrid Glitter, director of John, which was released locally on DVD in 2006. "John was a risky film to make. It was the first 100% Kiwi-made xxx boy-boy film, it was made by a woman, and it was made with soul," she explains. The 86-minute film tells the sexual story of John, "a regular Kiwi guy who's tired of one-night stands. Men just want to shoot and leave, when John really wants to have someone to love." With a variety of gay, straight, bi, bondage and even 'splatter' pornography, The Berlin Porn Film Festival showcases the gamut of film genres and sexual persuasions, aiming to showcase porn that is non-mainstream and daring. The Festival opens tonight, with titles such as Tears of Ecstasy, Fisting Underground Berlin, and Any Orgasm is a Small Echo of the Big Bang on offer over four evenings.
