Homophobic slurs like "that's so gay" to mean something unwelcome or unwanted are common in schools across the US and in many other countries, including New Zealand. TV stations across the United States have received the ads, which will run in timeslots donated by the channels. The ThinkB4YouSpeak campaign's new website includes a place where readers can leave alternatives to the word "gay", and suggestions of how to tell people that it's not OK to say "that's so gay."
