Greater representation of women and cultural diversity are needed for next year's Hero festival in Auckland, say the Hero Brand Management Group. A strategic planning meeting is to be held on 21 May to get input for Hero 2006, with the with the Hero BMG concerned that there were no women's events at this year's festival. In true corporate style, the meeting will be "run by independent facilitator Nicky Benson, from Rogen, a global communication company, helping us to develop strategies to position our organization appropriately for our most important stakeholders," say the BMG. Of the 2005 festival, Wellington drag artiste Pollyfilla's show Glamarama was one of the highlights, say the BMG, as was the Chocolate Fish Swim Meet and the Hero Debate, which proved so popular that it may have to move to a larger venue next year.
