Is King the victim of a publicity stunt?

Sun 30 Nov 2003 In: New Zealand Daily News

Eating Media Lunch host Jeremy Wells will not be commenting publicly on Mike King's homophobic ansaphone rant until the next episode of his show on Tuesday. King left an abusive message on the ansaphone of one of the show's writers referring to the show's staff as “c*cksucker c**ts” after a satirical cartoon screened on the show referring to him as “Mike Queen” and making fun of his penchant for homophobic jokes. The tape was leaked to Auckland radio station bFM who are distributing it via their website, along with video footage taped at a hip-hop summit where King allegedly abuses bFM host Mikey Havoc and tells him to "suck my c*ck". King's agent, David Steele, says he has been set up. “It certainly seems to be quite personal and quite vindictive,” says Steele.
