Embattled gay British entertainer Michael Barrymore is back in New Zealand to live, along with his Kiwi partner Shaun Davis. It was rumoured in late September that Barrymore was a considering a move to New Zealand following relentless media pressure that forced a cancellation of his last British tour after only three nights. "This is the first day of the rest of my life so I need to know how to live in New Zealand," he said yesterday. "It's like starting all over again, not just career-wise, but my whole life." Barrymore is planning a tour of the provinces, including Whangarei, New Plymouth, Hastings, Blenheim and Invercargill, tickets for which go on sale tomorrow. "It's a weird thing to have all that experience and start again,” he said of the modest size of his latest venture. “It's snakes and ladders for me, except I keep getting the big snakes. I do heavy sighs now and again, I get positive and I get disappointed. If the option of New Zealand or Australia wasn't here, I don't know what will have happened."
