Investigation into videotape teacher continues

Sun 7 Sep 2003 In: New Zealand Daily News

Continuing a long line of sensationalist investigations, the Sunday Star-Times has turned its spotlight on a Takapuna Grammar school teacher, righteously turning over a videotape it obtained under mysterious circumstances to the police, which allegedly features 47-year-old David Arthur filming students taking drugs. On the video, Arthur also allegedly admits to having slept with high school students, films a naked boy, and most shockingly admits to being “a homosexual”. Police say they believe they have identified the naked boy but “don't know” how old he is. Arthur was stood down from teaching duties when the tape came to light two weeks ago, and is now the subject of an investigation by the school, which has not received any complaints about him. A committee set up by Takapuna Grammar's Board of Trustees will meet with Arthur this Tuesday to ask him to respond to the allegations.
