P dance party not what it seems

Sun 24 Aug 2003 In: New Zealand Daily News

An Invercargill social event for gays and lesbians has created an unfortunate double entendre due to its name – The 'P' Dance Party. The party, organised by Rainbow Connection Invercargill, is intended to encourage people to come dressed as something beginning with the letter 'P'. "We never thought of it, it's an unfortunate coincidence," said a spokesman for Rainbow Connection when asked about the drug connotations of the party's name. Drugs will not be welcome at the party, said the spokesman, which is at a licenced venue with security present.
