Mon 13 Feb 2017 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback View at NDHA

Mr Gay New Zealand has been crowned and HIV advocate Charlie Tredway has taken the title.   Mr Gay NZ contestants and well known New Zealand personalities including Charlie Tredway center left in white Ending HIV singlet. The winner was announced on the main stage at yesterday’s Big Gay Out in Auckland after ten finalists were put through their paces in a series of activities. Dedicated to HIV advocacy, Tredway works tirelessly at the New Zealand AIDS Foundation as a Community Engagement Officer and will represent New Zealand at the Mr Gay World Finals in Spain this May. Tredway spoke just after he took out the title, saying "I'm just really overwhelmed, never in a million years. "I thought Alexander [Kachfi] was going to take it out but I'm just thrilled. "The community got behind me and I've run out of words."
