Wed 7 Dec 2016 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

A man who sexually preyed on vulnerable youths has today been sentenced to preventive detention, meaning he might never be released from prison. Hawera man Nigel Allan Hauauru Nelson, 37, was today sentenced in the High Court in New Plymouth after earlier being convicted on 33 charges of rape, unlawful sexual connection, indecent assault, and sexual exploitation of a person under 18. His victims included fifteen young men who he lured into sexual encounters with promises of earning money from a non-existent prostitution and pornography business.
