Krd institution Caluzzi has been sold and Campbell Orr will be moving on after 18 years with the business, 12 of which have been as the owner. Orr says that the decision to sell Caluzzi was not an easy one as he has spent half of his life at Caluzzi. “I think I just felt like I needed a change, a new challenge and to spend more time with my gorgeous man Jade,” he says. “The timing just felt right this year with the 20th anniversary just gone and some personal opportunities that have come up. I wanted to leave on a high and I really do love Caluzzi, mainly because of the people. My amazing drag performers, kitchen and bar staff and the amazing regulars who keep coming back for more.” Orr says he will be taking a small holiday and upon his return will be starting a whole new career path. Caluzzi’s new owners are Kita Mean and Anita Wigl’it of Drag Wars. Orr says “Anita, Kita and I have already been working together and will continue to do so over the next couple of weeks to make the transition smooth. I will of course be available for advice even after the hand over date at the end of September. With Caluzzi having just celebrated it’s 20th anniversary, Orr says “I really believe that Anita Wigilit and Kita Means passion for the art of Drag will keep the Caluzzi Legacy going for years to come.”
