Peters calls Carter "nancy" in House

Mon 31 Mar 2003 In: New Zealand Daily News

NZ First leader Winston Peters has been asked by Parliament's speaker Jonathan Hunt to apologise for calling gay Labour Minister Chris Carter a "nancy". The comment was apparently provoked by Carter`s reference to Peters' "gutter politics". Two days later when Carter walked into the House with a colourful lei around his neck from a Samoan protest outside, Peters gave him a wolf whistle.
