A Human Rights and Health Conference will officially launch the Homosexual Law Reform 30 year anniversary celebrations in Wellington next year. Ahead of the Proud 2016 conference, the general public and community organisations are invited to attend a launch community meeting in Wellington on 1 December. The meeting is a chance to hear about what the group are thinking, to find our how individuals and community groups can be involved to influence the program or to simply spark ideas for joint presentations and supporting each other. All groups or individuals who are thinking about or already planning on marking the anniversary year or wanting to join in and be involved with the conference in the Wellington region are encouraged to attend the meeting on Tuesday, December 1. The aim of the conference, to be held in March 2016, is to re-ignite the fires of the LGBTI community on issues of Human Rights and Health in the states of Papua New Guinea, Australia, New Zealand, the South Pacific, Melanesia and the Micronesian Islands.   Themes include Discrimination and Equality, Torture, Violence and Abuse, Freedom of Speech, Assembly and Association, Gender Identity and Expression, HIV, Access to Health and Medical Care, Wellbeing, Culture, Migration, and refugees. The Proud 2016 Conference, hosted by Rainbow Wellington and ITANZ on behalf of ILGA Oceania and ILGA World, expects participants from around the Pacific, Australia, New Zealand and as far away as Geneva.   Proud 2016 Conference Launch Community Meeting for Wellington Tuesday, December 1 5:30pm - 7:30pm St Johns in the City, corner of Willis and Dixon Streets
