Statue ruffles feathers in US small town

Mon 24 Aug 2015 In: International News

US: A sculpture designed to show locals relying on each other has been moved from prominent display in a small Michigan town because of complaints it looks like a gay orgy. The controversial sculpture Mark Chatterley's "Blue Human Condition" was unveiled near Adrian City Hall last week as part of the city's public art programme, the Huffington Post reports. It quickly became known as “the orgy statue” among locals, and has now been moved to a less visible section of a park. Residents complained they couldn’t bring their children into town because of the piece. Among the more stringent objectors to the statue is a local pastor from The Church on Bent Oak who claimed it enshrines “perversion and abomination”.
