Leanne Chambers and 'Harry' Harris are the new Chair and Deputy OverWatch’s founding Chair Stu Pearce has stood down, with a new leadership team taking over. Pearce says he has been privileged to hold the Chair position at the New Zealand Defence Force's lgbti support group. “I don't think any of us believed we'd achieve half of what has been accomplished to date and it’s a real demonstration of what can be achieved when a bunch of passionate and determined people decide to make something happen,” he says. Army musician and its Deputy Director of Events and Ceremonial Support Leanne Chambers is OverWatch’s new Chair, while Navy representative “Harry” Harris is Deputy Chair. “I have every confidence the will take the OverWatch group forward and continue to make a positive difference in the lives of the NZDF's lgbtiq people,” Pearce says. Since OverWatch was set up in January 2012 it’s made history marching in the Auckland Pride Parade and winning the Supreme Award at the 2013 ANZ EEO Trust Diversity Awards. In February, New Zealand's Defence Force was ranked the most inclusive in the world in the LGBT Military Index.
