NFL coach denies claims he's a bigot

Sun 5 Jan 2014 In: International News

Mike Priefer A member of the coaching staff of NFL team the Minnesota Vikings denies he is a bigot, in the face of claims he said all gay people should be sent to an island and nuked. Pro-lgbt rights former punter for the team Chris Kluwe has made the blistering accusations against special teams coordinator Mike Priefer, who he says also once told him he would ‘burn in hell with the gays’. “I want to be clear that I do not tolerate discrimination of any type and am respectful of all individuals,” Priefer has responded, in a statement. “I personally have gay family members who I love and support just as I do any family member. The comments ... have not only attacked my character and insulted my professionalism, but they have also impacted my family.” The Vikings have hired lawyers to look into the allegations Kluwe has made.
