(The Advocate) A bakery in the US state of Virginia has presented a woman with a hateful take on the anniversary cake she ordered for her partner. Sarah tells The Advocate she asked for the cake she ordered to be the same as one she saw in the store’s catalogue, but without balloons and reading "Happy Anniversary Lindsey! Love, Sarah." Instead it says what appears to be "Lesbian Anniv. No Ballons," in messy scrawl. It was also chocolate when Sarah asked for a carrot cake. The store has apologised for the poor quality of writing, and given Sarah a refund, but stands by its homophobia. Virginia has no anti-discrimination laws covering sexuality or gender identity.
