Gay candidate resigns after 'underage' phone sex

Paul Findlay A Christchurch gay youth group board member and local body election candidate has stood down after pictures of him interacting erotically on a phone app with a young man who may be under 16 years of age were posted online. The pictures of Paul Findlay, 27, including sexually explicit images, have emerged on the Whale Oil website of conservative blogger Cameron Slater. Findlay has been campaigning for a place on the Hagley-Ferrymead Christchurch community board and has resigned from the People's Choice Labour political group as well as the board of Canterbury youth support group QTopia. Although no complaint has been received police are understood to be already investigating the matter.
