Russia bans single NZers from adopting kids

Along with banning gay couples from adopting, Russia has also prevented single people in nations that allow same-sex marriage from becoming adoptive parents or legal guardians of Russian children. A Kremlin statement said the measure is intended to guarantee children a "harmonious" upbringing and protect them from "complexes, emotional suffering and stress." In all, 14 countries are impacted by the law, which followed the passage of Russia’s anti ‘gay propaganda bill’.
