Fri 15 Feb 2013 In: New Zealand Daily News

Auckland Museum during the technical test for tonight's rainbow display Auckland's Museum and Sky Tower will be sights to behold tonight, as they set their lights to rainbow colours on the eve of the Auckland Pride Parade. A sneak preview picture, taken at a technical try-out, shows the War Memorial Museum looking stunning atop the Domain, with rainbow colours flooding its outer walls. "Our beautiful Museum is donning rainbow colours tonight to celebrate the inaugural Auckland Pride Festival," a message on its Facebook page reads. The Museum has also shared a blog from Collection Manager Megan Harvey about "proudly wearing your identity for all to see". She writes "What a brilliant way for the Museum to fly the flag for our GLBT staff and the wider GLBT community, and show our support for the first Auckland Pride Festival." And the Sky Tower is also getting into the act, with its impressive rainbow and gold lighting display scheduled to come to life at 9pm.
