Rotorua lesbian slit lover's throat, cut off her ears

Michelle Hoffman-Tamm It has been confirmed this afternoon that the victim and her female killer in a horrific murder in Rotorua had been in a sexual relationship. Gwenda Sloan, 44,  has today pleaded guilty to the murder of her casual lover Michelle Hoffman-Tamm, 51, on November 7. Hoffman-Tamm's body was found a fortnight after she went missing after leaving her home to visit a friend. The Rotorua High Court has heard that she instead met up with Sloane to drink and have "some fun" and that an argument developed over an allegedly missing $20. Sloane grabbed two knives and stabbed Hoffman-Tamm 35 times. She also slit her throat from the side of her mouth to her ear and sliced off both the victim's ears. She stuffed one ear in the dying woman's mouth and put the other in a bag which she later used to dispose of the body. Before the body was disposed of it was left on the kitchen floor for a day while Sloane slept. After being questioned about Hoffman-Tamm's disappearance Sloan led them to the well-hidden body on a forestry road near Murupara. Sloane will be sentenced on February 4th.
