US: Fundy blames gay rights for Hurricane Sandy

Wed 31 Oct 2012 In: International News

John McTernan A fundamentalist Christian American pastor is blaming the fight for gay rights for causing Hurricane Sandy, a destructive super-storm which has left more than 100 people dead from the Caribbean to Canada. "God is systematically destroying America," John McTernan of the Defend and Proclaim the Faith ministries has blogged, as New York is in bedlam and millions are without power. “Just look at what has happened this year ... Just last August, Hurricane Isaac hit New Orleans seven years later, on the exact day of Hurricane Katrina. Both hit during the week of the homosexual event called Southern Decadence in New Orleans” he writes, before blaming the “pro-homosexual” election candidates and their support for “the homosexual agenda” for Hurricane Sandy. Other major tragedies and random events which have been blamed on gays, by various people, include the Christchurch Earthquakes, 9/11, the Catholic church's paedophile crisis, the Colorado Batman movie massacre and the 2008 collapse of Panama's emergency phone system.
