Three accused in Rotorua killing plead not guilty

Three of four people accused of the murder of a gay man in a Rotorua park have pleaded not guilty. A 14-year-old and a 15-year-old, who have been granted interim name suppression, and Simon Meka Herewini, 20, unemployed, appeared in the High Court at Rotorua this morning accused of the murder of Polish man Roman Skorek, the Daily Post reports. Through their lawyers they each pleaded not guilty to murdering Skorek, who was found dead in Kuirau Park on 23 January. A trial has been set down for February 11.
