Mr Gay Waikato: Ryan Jones

Tue 6 Sep 2011 In: Hall of Fame View at Wayback View at NDHA

Meet the new Mr Gay Waikato, the rather gorgeous 26-year-old Ryan Jones who has recently moved to Hamilton from Auckland and loves the big city with a tight-knit community feel Hamilton offers. Tell me a bit about yourself? I'm 26, I work in Hamilton as an assistant manager of Farro Fresh Hamilton’s newest (and most amazing boutique food market)[promotion, promotion lol]. Without wanting to sound cliché I love great food, good wine and fantastic friends. Really in life you can't ask for much more and as for walks on the beach...still looking for my no.1 man. What does winning mean to you? Winning to me is a real buzz; I think it gives me the ability to be able to represent a stunning Waikato community which really is full of some amazing people. Why do you think you came out on top? I came out on top because, well that’s really hard to say. My fellow contestants were simply very cool, I would like to think I triumphed because of my stunning performance in the underwear section, but seriously, I had some pretty strong competition, and I thank wholeheartedly the guys and girls who voted for me. What do you win? I won a $500 clothing voucher, a $500 bar tab, and more importantly a chance to represent the great place called the Waikato having only recently moved down from Auckland. Do you love living in Hamilton and why? Yah know I love Hamilton and the Waikato because it's big enough to be big, yet small and personal enough that you can grow great friendships with some pretty cool and fun people which simply endure. What's your message for GayNZ.com readers? If I had a message for GayNZ.com readers it would be this, “you know who you really are, have fun and freedom with it”     GayNZ.com - 6th September 2011
