Text:Men shouldn't dress up as poofters, according to former politician turned radio host Tau Henare. Speaking on Newstalk ZB's Paul Holmes breakfast yesterday to promote his Sunday night talkback programme, Henare said that the show would concentrate on metrosexuals and “how men shouldn't dress up as poofters". Newstalk ZB general manager Bill Francis calls Henare's comment a “throwaway remark within the context of an 'opposing ends of the spectrum' exchange between Tau and [guest] Wendyl [Nissen]”. He denies that Newstalk ZB is dedicating a show to denigrating gay men. Henare's show will air from 10pm till midnight on Sunday.
