Text:Homophobia is still a “virus in the air”, says Lord of the Rings star, Sir Ian McKellen. Speaking at a cocktail reception organised by GAP (Gay Association of Professionals) and MP Tim Barnett at Premier House in Wellington which was open to the public, Sir Ian said he should not be used a role model because he took 49 years to come out.
