Text:Peter Ellis is "absolutely astounded" at the support high profile NZers and members of the public have given for the petition that hopes to force a Royal Commision of Inquiry into his 1993 convictions. "I was overwhelmed. What's happening is, for me, heart moving," said Ellis, adding that he was approached several times by members of the public while out shopping yesterday asking where they could sign the petition. National MP Katherine Rich, one of the sponsors of the petition, has said that those interested in signing are welcome to call her office at Parliament for a copy.
