Text:Auckland's planned Slip, Slop, Splash fundraiser event has been canceled just over a week before it was due to be held. Envisaged as a night of light-hearted swimming competition at the Mt Albert Philips Aquatic Centre with profits going to Rainbow Youth, the event sold insufficient tickets to justify going ahead, according to co-organiser Wayne Otter. Otter says another contributing factor to the cancellation was the number of swim teams which had expressed initial support but which had withdrawn in recent days.
