De-Lovely is an original musical portrait of the gay American composer Cole Porterfilled with his unforgetable songs performed by todays artists including Alana Morrissette, Robbie Williams, Elvis Costello and Sheryl Crow to name a few. In the film Porter, played by Kevin Kline, looks back on his life as if it was one of his spectacular stage shows. His elegant and excessive past comes to light- including his deeply complicated relationship with his wife and muse Linda Lee Porter, played by Ashley Judd, and his liasons with lover Gabe played by British actor Jonathan Pryce. The film has Kevin Kline playing the piano himself in the scenes where his character Cole plays. Ata press conferenceAlanis Morisette was quoted as saying ''Before I knew five or six Cole Porter songs; I now know him on apersonal level. This film is a great way to push youngpeople into discovering Cole Porters music''. The evening is a fundraiser for The Cartier Bereavement Charitable Trust. One can imagine the late Drag Artist Courtney Cartier who the Trust was formed in memory of, performing some of the Cole Porter songs in her exorbitant manner.'
